YPG and YPJ push back the attack of IS mercenaries Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nasra

Afrin – The People’s and Women’s Protection Units foiled  an attack on the Fatah al-Sham mercenaries (Nasra Front) and Ahrar al-Sham on the village of Iska in the district of Shirawi in Afrin province.

The Fatah al-Sham mercenaries (Jabhat Al-Nasra) and Ahrar al-Sham, which are supported by the Turkish occupyers, launched an attack from Qal’at Samaan north of Dara Azza, west of Aleppo, on the positions of the people and women protection units in Iska village.

According to local sources, mercenaries attacked the village of Iska at 23:30 on Tuesday night. The clashes between the YPJand mercenaries supported Turkey continued until 5:00 this morning.

Mercenaries used heavy weapons, dushka and mortars against the village.

It is worth mentioning that the SDF fighters foiled a fierce attack on the Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham  mercenaries on 13 June on the village of Bassofan from the Citadel of Samaan. During the units’ confrontation, at least 48 mercenaries were killed and 7 vehicles containing mercenaries, military equipment and ammunition could be destroyed.
